This policy explains how Taylor Plumbing and Taylor Contractors ("Taylor", "we", "us") collect, use, share and protect your personal information. It applies to this website, our phone and email enquiries, and lead forms we run on advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Snapchat, TikTok and Google. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Personal information we collect

  • Your name, phone number and email address.
  • Your property or job address.
  • Details about the job, including descriptions, photos and preferred timing.
  • Records of calls, messages, quotes, invoices and work completed.
  • How you found us, such as the ad, campaign or search that led you to us.
  • Technical information such as IP address, device, browser and pages visited.

How information is collected

  • Directly from you, when you fill in a form, call, email or talk to our team.
  • Through lead forms on advertising platforms, when you choose to submit your details.
  • Automatically, through cookies and tracking tools on our website.
  • From people acting for you, such as property managers, landlords or builders.

Why we collect it

We collect personal information so we can respond to your enquiry, quote and carry out work, keep proper job records, and run and improve our business. We only collect what we need for these purposes.

How we use it

  • To contact you about your enquiry, quote or booking.
  • To send a technician and complete the work.
  • To invoice, take payment and keep business and tax records.
  • To follow up after a job and handle any issues.
  • To understand which advertising works and improve our website and service.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Marketing and customer communications

We may contact you by phone, email or text about your enquiry or job. We may also send occasional updates or offers. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link, replying STOP to a text, or contacting us. We will still contact you about active jobs where needed.

Lead information from advertising platforms

When you submit a lead form on Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Google or another advertising platform, that platform passes the details you entered to us. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and for the purposes in this policy. The platform's own privacy policy also applies to how it handles your information.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar tools to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising. These may include Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising (Bing), Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and call tracking. Some of these tools use dynamic phone numbers so we can tell which ad or page led to a call. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

Service providers we may share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted providers who help us run our business, including:

  • Website hosting, form handling and email providers.
  • Job management, quoting, invoicing and accounting software.
  • Call tracking and phone system providers.
  • Analytics and advertising platforms listed above.
  • Address lookup services used on our forms.
  • Subcontractors or suppliers needed to complete your job.
  • Finance providers, only if you ask about or apply for payment options.

Some providers store information outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard comparable to New Zealand law. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Data storage and security

We store personal information in secure, access-controlled systems and limit access to people who need it for their role. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 20 working days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep some records where the law requires it.

If you are not happy with how we handle your request, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
